This website was created to introduce the Get Out There wildflower guide to a broader audience and to share updates (e.g, new flower finds, reader comments) and other relevant news.

Get Out There is a unique 310-page field guide covering over 260 kinds of wildflowers growing in the Crystal River Valley watershed in western Colorado. It was published in June 2024. Check out the “New Species” menu tab for additional flowers identified after the guide went to press.

Get Out There was written and photographed by Gregory C Staple. Trained as a master naturalist, Greg has photographed local wildflowers for a decade from his home near the Town of Marble.

Before moving to Colorado, he practiced law in Washington D.C. He is also the founder of TeleGeography, Inc. and RPD Energy, no part of Arcadia’s renewable energy business.
